MAYleaves

At Panton Vineyard there has been such a fantastic response to our wine and cellar door that we have nearly sold out of both vintages of Pinot Gris and have sold out of the 2012 Sangiovese. Luckily we have supplies of the 2013 Sangiovese left to see us through the winter until new vintages of our wines are released in September.

For this reason we have decided to close after Queen’s Birthday weekend for winter. However, please contact me via phone or website messaging if you would like to purchase some Sangiovese and I will organise that for you.

We have so many ideas and plans for next season at the cellar door including selling our homegrown produce and hosting picnic days. I will keep you up to date with these developments over the coming months.

We are eagerly awaiting the bottling and release of our 2014 Sangiovese, 2015 Pinot Gris and 2015 Sangiovese Rose in September. Closely followed by our 2015 Chardonnay and 2015 Pinot Noir in December.

Once again the wine making is in extremely capable hands. The Pinot Gris and Sangiovese are being made by Kathleen Quealy whilst Mike Symons, from Stonier, is making our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. I had the pleasure of sampling the Chardonnay and Pinot noir this week and am thrilled that they will set the bench mark for our first releases of those varietals. It has been an excellent vintage for both.

After a spectacular autumn the leaves have nearly all fallen from the vines. It is time to fertilise, mulch and prime the vines for what will hopefully be another great season. It is also a wonderful time of year to catch up on other odd jobs around the farm, especially with Matt being home for a couple of months.

We would love to see you before we close.

If you would like to receive a newsletter notifying you when the cellar door reopens please visit our website www.pantonvineyard.com.au and join our mailing list.

Keep warm this winter and we’ll look forward to sharing our wine with you.

Cheers

Karen
