A very bright red berry nose with aromatic sage and lavender notes. There is a firm and savoury edge to the palate with an abundance of nicely defined vibrant red fruits including raspberry, plum and cherry. With a little time the flavours will become even more expansive.
2018 Panton Pinot Noir is a blend of roughly equal proportions of each of the three clones grown in the vineyard. Each clone was de-stemmed and fermented separately in 2 tonne open fermenters with daily gentle pump overs and hand plunging for approximately 15 days. The pressed wine from each batch was matured separately in French oak puncheons (20% new) for 8 months before blending and bottling in December 2018.
